About Dan Larson
Dan Larson believes neighborhoods and the amenities and businesses that serve them are the backbone of a city.
It is the neighborhoods, the parks and the local businesses that provide a city with its charm, vitality, and character. Protecting those qualities is one of the most important obligations a city government holds.

Building on a Solid Foundation
With a vivid history and a presence as a great place to live, the City of Wheat Ridge has grown into a prosperous, welcoming community that cherishes its past and looks to the future.
Dan Larson recognizes these strengths and will work to protect those qualities that make this city a place we are proud to call home.
Big Family, Loving Home
Dan grew up on Chicago’s Southwest Side, near Midway Airport. He is the fourth of six children. Both his parents worked full-time while creating a warm and loving home. Growing up, Dan and his siblings were taught the importance of education, respect for neighbors, and the deep, personal satisfaction that comes of hard work and of being a valued and reliable teammate.
Big Cities and Small Towns
Dan lived and worked in big cities, in sprawling suburbs and in small towns. He commuted to work on busy highways, on crowded public transit and on lonely rural roads. He listened to and learned from community leaders, corporate executives, wise educators and hard-working families. Wherever he lived, whatever he was doing, he found that taking the time to listen to others, participate in the community, and just be a good neighbor are the most important things a person can do.
Wheat Ridge is Home
Twenty years ago, Dan and his wife, Devera, relocated in a company transfer from Chicago to Durango. Four years later, they moved to the Sloans Lake neighborhood in Denver. Living there, they found enduring friendships and gained first-hand insights into how housing development can affect the character of a neighborhood.
In 2016, when an opportunity arose for a move from Denver to Wheat Ridge, they took it and never looked back.
